Wild Flowers on Your Doorstep
This is a regional public survey asking people across the North East to record the wild flowers they see when they are out and about. It takes the form of a survey containing an identification guide to 12 wild flower species, chosen by the Biodiversity Forum as indicators of rich wild flower grassland.
We have a rich variety of wild flowers in the region. However, changing use of the land means that many wild flower havens are being destroyed. By asking people to tell us where they are growing, whether in woods, fields, parks, riverbanks, roadside verges or waste ground, we can take steps to ensure their protection for future generations to enjoy.
Surveys have been distributed around the region and are also available by contacting the EYE Project and visiting the EYE website. Wild flower sightings can be recorded on the website or survey slips can be returned by post.
