The aim was to facilitate attendees’ practical participation in red squirrels conservation. The day explained the need for conserving the red, threats to it, the current measures, and where the gaps currently are. Tailored practical workshops were run on setting up grey control schemes, raising public awareness, managing woodland for reds and lots more. Traps, blood testing kits and squirrel merchandise were on sale on the day.
