SENSE (South East Northumberland Sustainable Environments)
The SENSE project has been designed to enable people from local communities in Blyth Valley and south-east Northumberland to understand, appreciate and act to conserve and enhance their local environment using key local sites. The project will be providing opportunities for volunteering, habitat improvements and conservation, environmental education and training and community events. Through increasing the engagement of local people and communities with the green spaces around them, the project aims to have a positive impact on wildlife and social cohesion.
The key sites for the project are Plessey Woods, Big Waters, East Cramlington Pond, Holywell Pond, Newsham Pond, New Hartley Pond and the River Blyth at North Blyth.
