Natural Connections

The Natural Connections project has been designed to enable people from local communities in north Northumberland to understand, appreciate and act to conserve and enhance their local environment.

A project officer will work directly with local communities and in partnership with other conservation organisations to provide education, training, practical volunteering opportunities, along with community events and opportunities for local people to improve local green spaces.

The project will seek to engage all community members regardless of background, age, ability and ethnicity in order to promote inclusion and social cohesion.

The suite of opportunities will combine to ensure that local communities value their own environment and take practical steps to maintain and improve it, and to support other organisations with similar aims.
