Invasive Species

The Action Plan for the Northumberland Biodiversity Partnership Steering Group sets out a target to…

create a series of information fact sheets on the invasive species found in Northumberland by 2008.

Examples will include species such as the signal crayfish, which affects the native white clawed crayfish and the plant Himalayan Balsam, which rapidly colonises and spreads along our watercourses.

If you have any information on non-native invasive species in Northumberland that could contribute to this project then please contact the biodiversity coordinator.

The fact sheets will be available to download from this webpage once they are complete.
