The North Pennines Black Grouse Recovery Project
The North Pennines Black Grouse Recovery Project was established in 1996 to stem the decline of black grouse in northern England. The Recovery Project has a multi-faceted role, which includes providing free advice to landowners, farmers, government and conservation organisations on management for black grouse. The Project is also responsible for monitoring the English black grouse population and plugging gaps in our knowledge through the development of a research programme. Furthermore, the Project delivers the objectives of the black grouse Biodiversity Action Plan work programme in England.
